Clean the Green is a “green” festival promoting community education and litter prevention awareness for the city of Madison and surrounding areas. This festival will be very comprehensive and well rounded in its offerings. During the week leading up to the festival, we will arrange for local civic organizations to participate in removing debris and litter from prime locations throughout the city of Madison. Clean the Green sponsors activities that are of interest to those who are very young as well as those who are young at heart. The festival is free to attendees, non-profit organizations, and participating agencies. Organizations wishing to participate in Clean the Green may find an application form here.
To volunteer to help with the Clean the Green Festival, contact Kristen Kulavich: krisdkul @ hotmail DOT com. (The address is written this way to avoid spam. To use the address, replace the DOT with a "." and remove the spaces between krisdkul, the @, hotmail and com.)
Currently, over 30 groups ranging from local, state, and federal agencies to nonprofit groups both local and national have reserved booths. These organizations include: the Madison Water and Wastewater Board, the Solid Waste Disposal Authority, ADEM, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries, TVA, Alabama A&M, NRCS, The Land Trust, The Nature Conservancy, Hays Nature Preserve, and The Sierra Club.
